worst buy
today was boring. i had an interview at best buy. i doubt i get the job. you see, i applied for the geek squad because i want to fix computers and i want extra money to buy shoes
. well according to my interviewer, Best Buy is trying to make the Geek Squad profitable, so on top of fixing computers, there will be sales involved. both while doing the fixing and also on the floor. i expressed my total distaste about retail sales to the guy so, i don’t expect a call back. the whole idea of selling while fixing doesn’t sit well with me anywho. a person brings in their computer thats virus ridden and im supposed to push them to buy a new HDD and more RAM? sorry no… i doubt the geek squad was run like this before best buy ate it. corporatization of smaller operations is not always a good thing. look at winamp for example. one of the best media players ever created will probably never be further developed after AOL ate the operation and subsequently ripped it to shreds. anywho, i digress…in summary, i don’t think i’ll be working at best buy. for the consumer out there googling about best buy and the geek squad, be aware when you take your pc in to get fixed that you will be pushed to buy something. don’t fall for it. im tired of typing now..post more later.
