Thanks so much for posting this. I love my VModa's too. But have experience the electric shock many, many times. Like you I don't want to switch sets, because I haven't found a comparable set with great sounds quality. I will try this remedy. Thanks so much!! — Steffanie

You are a genius…I have been dealing with the same problem for months now, but never bothered to look it up. I too found myself saying “a sh!t” and ripping them out of my ears while on the subway, which is a bit embarassing. But the problem should definitly be addressed by vibe. Good work!

Hey. I believe this problem is not unique to those earphones. I had a pair of wrap-around earphones with the cloth covers and they shocked me, consistently and strong. Then I had the regular apple earbuds. They ended up shocking me. Now i have a set of hp earphones and they just started shocking me as well. Either I just have a very electric personality, or it just happens across the board. btw none of them had metal on them.

Why not just buy earphones that are made better and don't shock you?

I thought they were great too for the first several months but now they’ve gone and gotten a flaky connection on me (they cut out if wire is shifted).
