I work for DISH Nework and I can tell you that DISH does not provides these kind of practices. I know that Direct TV is being sued for deceptive practices towards its products and service. If you need great customer service and best prog in the industry then DISH Network is right for you.

Did they tell you by activating that leased receiver as they call it?( how you lease something for 199.00 and then pay monthly for it I will never know) I work for DISH network, and I have to say that this is just a normal thing that I see from Directv, now granted no company is perfect, but Directv is just on the wrong side of the grass, I don’t think they have seeded that side of the yard yet, cause there is no grass growing. DISH will always save you money, whether its motnhly or upfront. 199 for a leased receiver? wow

California is not the only state that has done something, the Washington State Attorney General sued DIRECTV for “unfair sales practices.” Also the BBB has received almost 40,000 customer complaints about DIRECTV. Now I am a DISH employee and customer but I thought I would share that information with you.

Dude I know. It's ridiculous.

I was thinking the entire time, "I know you CAN reprogram them you just WON'T reprogram them because some six sigma douchebag in accounting figured you could scam $20 out of people even when they don't buy equipment from you."

I didn't say that though. CSR's have a hard enough time as it is.

That's bullshit. I bought a DirecTivo from a guy off Craigslist *with his card in it*. I called DirecTV and they just enabled the card while disabling the card in my non-Tivo receiver. No charges, no problem. Granted, this was 2-3 years ago, but what the fsck?
